    I LOVE it!!! .....ABY Baby!!

I took CQ-ABY for a spin yesterday. No to far really just to make sure no lights came on and all the gauges work properly.
I have a fairly long drive on about a 20-25% upwards grad so on the way back i decide to see how well the new boost gauge worked and see what boost im making (will give me a fair indication of any leaks)
Pulled off in 1st gently and promptly into second (fairly low revs) then gently squeezed the throttle to the floor. A small amount of lag (being low revs) Then the boost gauge flicked over to about 1bar.

Like a startled cat! I must have had the biggest grin.

I didnt expect it to be that much quicker than my old 180bhp re2500 engine. But i guess the extra kick comes from all that torque.

Gotta wait till 1st August till its on the road.

Got 1 or 2 jobs to do to it before then but i really cant wait.

Wont be long before im craving more and aquire some of pauls 'oven chips' or what ever you ABY guys on here call them

Good work James, learn the extra power gradually and if you want to be fast then short shift at 6.5-7k as it really dies above there even with 7A FW and decent exhaust...

Fair play, makes sense my 6a mk2 is best between 4k and 6k. Get up to 7k-7.5k and it really tails off.

I cant wait to get used to it. Going to the 'ring 14th August so i will spend a fair bit of time in it before then getting used to the extra weight new suspension and power delivery.

It great as i can tell im really going to enjoy driving it already. All the hard work is beginning to pay off. Wouldn't have been possible without al's car as a donor and for reference.

Poor MK2 aint gonna get to much use i fear The misses loves the mk2 so i might get her to sell her nasty heavy mk3 and use the little mk2.

You'll learn to appreciate both cars for what they are, the Audi will always be heavy and fast, the Golf light and involving. Be careful with the Audi about the lift-off oversteer, they're well mannered till you get them on the limit and then they act like a hot hatch, can be quite entertaining if you know what's coming, ask T2Andy about Donington Park
