    Peter,

If you buy Dest's,. DO NOT modify the styling, it looks perfect as it is!

    Nuff Said.

You must weigh up the cost of buying a new car and then modding it vs modding what you've got.

If you can find the money for a new car then you can find money to mod the current. The only reason to change is if your current Coupe is not a good base car to mod IMO.
If I buy the avant it would leave me about 1k to work on the engine with or sort the clutch in my coupe, If I keep the coupe i've around 6k hopefully to get it finished/sorted. The only things wrong with the coupe atm is the clutch, a problem with the sidelights strobing the hids and the laquer pealing on the tailgate.

Why would it be a waste? When you bought them you didnt have an Avant to fit them too anyway
If it was me Id sell/break the Coupe, sell the 3b parts, sell the RS2 bits, and build a monster engine for the Avant

Stick with the coupe you already own and spend the money on the mods you want. When you feel the need for baby seats and slippers buy an avant and swap the running gear over

...having said that the avant is rather tasty, much nicer looking than an RS2 IMO

Got to be the avant all day long they just look mean. an i also know ive had more fun in the back of a avant than most coupe owners could ever dream off ( except maybe tom his coupes always look hot for some reason.) so ive voted avant and acid burn i have faith that you could make dests car look even better with rs2 parts. do it. join the darkside.

Oh this is a hard one...

If the S2 isn't a daily driver, take the coupe off the road for a bit and mod the hell out of it. There's really nothing quite like a 420+ bhp coupe with the suspension done... personally, I went down the avant road as (a) I always liked the RS2 styling and Tim's avant was conveniently for sale and amazing and (b) the car was a daily driver and the practicality was very appealing.

In hindsight, if I knew what would happen, I'd have got a 3B much like yours and put the engine in that. I'd then have an oil burner for daily running.

Of course, if you can afford to run it, go the Avant route with 450bhp as the daily driver - I *almost* got there so not quite sure what it's like...

Your projects have always interested me and I especially like the fact you got 400+ on the dizzy which is something i'd have liked to do.

I was looking at your for sale thread earlier

What suspension was on your coupe? and yeah I already have a diesel that i'm sorting for a daily driver

I'm surprised at how close the poll has been recently with it being 50/50 till just recently.

My coupe had H&R / Bilstein combo with RS2/Whiteline ARBs. It handled like it was on rails, plus the 3B is a little lighter of course! I loved the raw, revvy feeling of the 3B.

That said, the Avant has it's appeal. Hell, why not keep the coupe and have one of each!

That's what I'm planning on doing within the next year. I'm going to throw most my resources at my Coupe and try and pick up a cheapish Avant to use for work and day to day driving.

                                Buy the Avant.

Theres something understated about the avant, fun seeing peoples faces as they double take when you put your foot down and mines not even been tinkered with! Everyone expects a coupe to go fast, if it doesnt its disappointing, if it does then it supposed to but no one expects it in an avant.

Everyone knows about S4, RS4. Tell someone you bought an S2 avant and people look at you with a bemused face, not having a clue as to what it is. Its only when you look closely enough that you appreciate the subtle pointers to the fact theres more to it than that, the wide wheel, lowered stance, the sound as you turn it over ( which is wicked in Dests one) and the little S2 badges that give it away that something more sinister is lurking underneath the bonnet. That grandad wagon is certainly a wolf in sheeps clothing.

Dests is a beaut example too so you could nt ask for a bettter starting point.

go on you know you wanna!
