Thats not a boost controller that's a bleed valve, avoid avoid avoid.

An electronice boost controller however is very nice on the S2 only problem is you ecu has no fail safe control over boost anymore.

i use one. wouldn't use an N75 ever.

been a boost contrller fan for a while. i like items that do jobs properly.

i ve used blitz, hks, turbosmart and apexi

i run a turbosmart eboost 2. the best controller i have ever used and wouldn't change it for any other.

when i had the n75 i work good but every now n again it would ramp in slower or fluctuate slightly. fitted the eboost and set at 1 bar and it flew. hit and hold no hesitation and far quicker.

on big turbo builds i can never see why a person would spend thousands on the turbo and build but not get the best from it due to N75 use.

my controller is the 40psi version but they do 60 also. i have it mounted in a perrin racing pod on top of the steering cowling. its designed for a subaru but fits the audi like a glove. in the other side of the pod i have a defi boost gauge. both 60mm. i then have a VEMS egt + WB02 in the vent pod.

i spent a lot on gauges but find its the only way to get good result. being somebody who has previously used poor gauges and seen a few costly ones that dont work well id advise you to buy good and buy once.

a guage needs to be of use and not just for show.

I'm going to reconnect my blitz i-color once the car is sorted out, until then it's N75 for safety.

i can understand the safety thing. i have the egt and wb02 to help me deturmine safety.

has anybody ever seen the factory safety systems work. especially on our now old cars with old wiring and sensors. what does it do. not theory for real.

personally i think 1 bar held tight is great on a k24. fueling is good too.

In theory, the N75 provides safety, but I have seen plenty of them develop leaks, causing the boost to skyrocket, with resulting engine damage.
ECU pulling boost via N75 is only the third line of defence when it detects knock, it first pulls timing, then dumps fuel and if that doesn't supress knock, it pulls boost.
I'm running a simple ball and spring MBC from Australian Turbotech. Works splendid and costs virtually nothing. Running a Knocklite from Turbo XS that flashes if it detects knock (which is not likely gonna happen as I will soon be running on E85)

Yes the MAP sensor had been removed from the ECU and replaced with a boost controller.

The car was quicker with the boost controller but in it's current state I want ECU controlled boost until the engine swap.

There are not much articles from this available, but tested up to 1031hp in one magazine.

This device is usable with aftermarket ECUs that do not have propper boost control or the needed RISC power for the boost control algorithms.

avcr built in sensor is small for high boost

Can someone tell me what size map sensor comes with the Apexi AVC-R and how much boost it can accurately control while using 10psi wastegate springs? I need it to run up to 2.5bar. I can run 1 bar springs in the gates if necessary.

with 4 bar sensor it could handle up to 3bar boost

In the very early Apexi AVCR's 3bar can be had, but the later ones are 2.2 or 2.3 bar.

I have seen this on a few Evo's/scoobys in the last few years.

I have the AVCR on my URS4.

Russs is a good friend of mine and he is going to be mapping my car. It was at Wallace Performance when i have been helping in the past.

Russ also has the AVCR in both his cars. One being a mk2 Astra turbo running around 400bhp without NOS and a 550+bhp Evo6.
