Fed up with the oem DV.....

Right, time has come to venture on and try something diffrent.

I have gone through S3 and RS6 DV's like no tomorrow in the last couple of years, infact i was changing them with every oil change or even sooner as they were always getting frazzled by the hot air coming out of the turbo.

I manged to get one of these beauties for next to nothing so am going to fit that in soon.

Only question is what setup to use.
It can vent back to intake, vent to atmosphere or vent t0 intake and atmosphere. Also you can adjust it from 'soft' to 'hard' - sounds a bit technical to me but we shall see.

Lovely job there mate. Turbosmart yeah? I want one IMO set it so that for all but WOT it recircs then at high boost you get the woosh. It means that most of the time the rich running caused by dump to atmosphere valves will be avoided. Sweet

      a good choice their.

i use a atmospheric only valve with no issues (vems) but no issue swith motronic either that i could feel/see.

i run mine quite tight. its about setting it so it doesn't leak.

Running a hybrid is better than running a purely VTA but its still "bad" for the engine - unless the ECU is specifically expecting air to be removed from the system its always going to cause fuelling problems.

point is taken but if its only rich between shifts than not too bad.

im no motronic expert but wont it then lambda correct to stoich after a few seconds.

all valves should be sealed unless venting excess boost. in which case its only an issue every now n again for a split second. if its venting other times its a vacuum leak.

id rather use a good atmospheric thats been tried and tested for many years than a recirc. lots of people complain about cone filters on here and hot air. well that what you put back in with a recirc, pre boosted hot air.

          opinion based this obviously.

They're about ÂŁ150 aren't they? Better quality than the Forge one tho from what I've heard.

I only paid ÂŁ50 and its brand new with all the extras. Im not sure what they usually cost but for ÂŁ50 it would have been a crime no to buy it.

Andy ill let you know what they are like. Im going to run it so that it vents back to intake system and to atmosphere, and the piston will be set to hard so it dosnt leak. These only come with one spring but that can be wound tigh if desired a bit like the famous wastegate mod.

                    Cheers.

50 quid! Phook Bo, that's a deal and a half. Got any more? Nice little chirp on gear change, mine's loud cos of the modified airbox but there's always room for improvement and if you're lucky Si will take offence and go off on one

I don't think I'll find them for that price again. Came of eBay, 50 quid starting bid with no reserve. Good luck guys. Will post some results once it's fitted.
