If one driver dominates, people moan - if nobody really dominates, Rocco moans!
Seriously though, as nailbiting as it is, I'd rather see this kind of one point victory compared to the domination we saw with Schumacher or indeed Mansell in 1992 when the championship was over by Hungary.

About time we had some racing! Perhaps next season they should introduce a "Water Cannon" truck at a random interval that pumps water all over the track for a couple of laps? That would keep them all on their toes.

Hilarious when it showed Massa's family jumping around all happy and crying then a random guy obviously mentions the fact that Hamilton came 5th! Their faces were PRICELESS.
Awww and Hamilton's brother is sooo protective - "look guys, he needs a drink, he needs to sit down - Give us 5 minutes!!" wonderful.
Watched pretty much the WHOLE race, (played PS3 during adverts) and had to endure several rants of "Why did Hamilton put wet tyres on when there's 5 laps to go? Idiot! IDIOT!"

Well best congrats to Hamilton then because he deserve it!
I'm happy for the Brits friends in here also because it was a loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong time to wait for:mischeif:
A British guy on a British (not quite sure about this thoug) car...
Like last time the fight was to the last point....... or kilometre this time...
I'm pretty happy of the result anyway because eventually Ferrari (i'm a fan of the car... could'nt careless about the driver...) won another time (that makes 8 out of 10!) the constructors championship that means the team it's defenetely superior to the German/Anglo McLaren Team and BMW and Toyota (well they got some advertising eventually this year) and al the rest.
Fair enough for me.
I don't care about drivers but.......... i'd love to see Alonso and Vettel on the red Ladies.
Let's see what it will be next year anyway.
Well I am not a fan of Massa, but I have nothing against him so I thing the comments above are a tad out of order.....after all, he did what he had to do in that final race and he did it very well. I think on the whole that this season Massa has made the best improvement, whether down to hard work or Schumachers help, he is no longer the crash-meister and joke that he used to be.....he has owned Raikkonen this year
That said I am of course over the moon that Hamilton won. I just hope he keeps his feet on the ground and grows up to become a worthy champion, as he could just become a spoiled brat....which would make old Wolfgang right and that would never do
I still believe that Hamilton is the best raw talent and that Alonso is a total ****er, but about the best driver (until Hamilton grows up) and that Button should give up and drive buses.
As for the race, remind me to punch Ron Dennis in the face if my company win the contract we are bidding at McLaren, for giving me more heart-attacks in one minute than I thought was humanly possible.
As for Ferrari winning the manufacturers title, of course they did, the FIA made sure that happened although they were helped by the fact that Kovi is plain useless - I mean his only job in that final race was to protect Hamilton's @r$e and he managed that for exactly 1 corner

Ha! Yeah that's true about Kovalainen. I also agree that Massa could do nothing more than he did and his race was perfect, it was a little sad to see him being virtually ignored by the press.
Stefano, I know Mercedes is very German, but the sporting regulations in motorsport for any single-seat racing car is the car constructor comes before the engine supplier. McLaren is still an English constructor.
Furthermore, the "Mercedes" engines are still ostensibly English made Ilmors even if they are funded from Germany and the company is now called Mercede Benz High Performance Engines Limited (which is still based in England, though doubtless full of international talent - no different in that respect to the Ferrari team)
I find it amusing that the French national anthem is played for the Oxfordshire based Renault team as well, but they are registered as a French team and Renault is a French manufacturer, end of story!
(Now probably isn't a good time to point out that the engines in Audi DTM cars are still based on Neil Brown Mugens, bascially a Japanese engine but built in the UK for a German race car)
The cars I used to work on also involved many different nations, English in the main but also including Japanese, Italian, German, Thai, Irish, American, Canadian and a wealth of others. Even people from the fens. I am proud to have worked with so many different people but I am equally proud that our cars were made in England, even though our owners were Japanese and then German.

I agree with Si on almost all points. I will add that I think laughing at Massa's Dad for being over the moon one second and then emotionally kicked in the n*ts the next is just plain cruel. Put yourself in that situation and imagine how gutted you would be in that situation. Have *some* compassion.
Now, that said, although I really wanted Hamilton to win, I wonder what would have happened if Massa and Hamilton were tied coming into this last race. Based on what I saw, I think Massa would have won both the race and the Driver's championship. Either Hamilton was dogging it, just trying to stay out of trouble and win by being 5th or higher, or his car (engine) was too fragile to be competitive with the Ferrari of Massa. Hard to tell.

OOOOH, i think that you could never live with that...
No matter what you´re thinking about that, the fact that i´ve seen in that race is that Vettel was in the end of the race with the Toro Rosso in front of Lewis with one Pit-Stop more than Lewis in the McLaren AND Alonso in the Renault was behind both McLaren on the start and in the end of the race he was on P2.
All in all you have to say and to accept that this race was a complete desaster for McLaren and the title was only a piece of luck in the last corner. You can say what you want about that but neither Lewis nor Heikki had the speed like the Ferrari, Alonso in the Renault and Vettel in the Toro Rosso.
Means for me that there will be a lot of action in the future if the renault becomes quicker and Vettel gets a quick car. Lewis is definetely going to have a problem with these two guys, cause these can handle a car under difficult circumstances much better than a Massa or Raikkönen can do. Although Felipe and Kimi were really quick in Interlagos with that conditions but the other to guys are better in my eyes.
I will not comment on the postings above concerning the Massa-Family but i´ll ask if that reaction is better than the reaction of the brazilian fans?
PS: I´ll bet that the day comes where Vettel kicks Hamiltons ***.. Can´t wait for that, german driver in hopefully german car beats britain in a british car (with german engine....) HEHEHEHE
