i think the fuel pump is ok, i can hear it buzzing and when i've taken the plugs out there is a little bit of petrol on them, i'll try some more, thanks for the fuel pump link urs4 i'll give that a go

Just crack the fuel pipe open ,15mm and 17mm (i think)on the conector of the return from the fuel rail and if it quits fuel out ,then the pumps fine.try this just after cranking the engine over as the fuel system still retains pressure.or should do.

update....started recently but now doesnt, replaced fuel pump, but my concern is maf. since new zorst mani fitted the maf has been relocated, my rs2 maf is fitted but the wires have all been bojjed.

I can fix that but wot else could be causin it not to start?

The engine should start without the MAF connected.

yes it did last time, i know a coilpack needs to be replaced but it should still start

You should begin from the start once more..
fuel? spark at the spark plug? If not: Hall sensor or G4 at the flywheel..
if yes? error codes? Bad electrical ground?
When my first coil pack died, the second died 5 days later.. changed all 5 then.

did look at all fuses but seemed ok. wot number fuse could it be?

Main ECU fuse has the red cover over it ..

its in the main fuse box, at the edge. Not one in the long row.
One of the separate ones, should have "MOTOR" on a cover over the top of two fuses.
