I have an immaculate RS2 with 87k on the clock in Volcano black with everything that needs doing on an RS2 done, including a 996/GT3 brake upgrade (done by the company we can't speak about but credit where credit is due!). However, I have always loved the RS6 and now with the credit crunch they do seem relatively affordable. I don't know a great deal about them I have heard about a DRC problem (assuming new suspension required) but I don't know about engine problems, turbo and brake life etc etc. Can anyone shed any light on them especially compared to the RS2?

Major major £££££s if either happens. I think there is a remapping mod available which claims to solve the gearbox problem so that's worth looking into. Of course you could like many RS6 owners purchase a warranty, but these will become increasingly difficult and expensive to buy as the cars get older. Heck it'll cost you £1-2k per year now! And finally the annual cost of ownership is very high with large servicing costs. Brake pads and discs are expensive and don't last long and of course you can expect to budget for a set of tyres every 10-12k at around £7-800 a set!!

Good shout there...
