I agree with another post on here, I thought that they had to be a marked vehicle if speed catching otherwise it is entrapment which is against your human rights!!!! I have been let off in the past for this as I took it to court (they were hidden behind a kwik fit sign in leeds and I made them both write a statement as to position and orientation of the police car to the oncoming traffic, I.E hidden and arm with gun sticking out of the window!!! Numpties)

Got a clear licence now too after the last three points came off this month. Must be a good boy now.

I had a table in tonight from Alness police station tonight and guess who was at it. Yes the officer that busted me.

Lucky for him that i didn't spot him till his coffee other wise he would of had a protein supplement in it. Sound guy but and when i introduced myself the rest of the police sided with me and started to give him grief.

I like them now good laugh, out of work.

no word of a lie, here in fishguard the local traffic cops park the volvo up the road and then hide in the bushes!!!:mischeif:

im not joking the only thing that gives them up is their white caps and speed gun poking out of a bush!

im gonna catch them on video one day, im sure they shouldn't be doing that!

Last two times I got caught like this first was fixed camera 95 in a 70 = 3 points and £60 fine. Second time they clocked me at 80mph on the roundabout and caught up with me 4miles down the road, went to court over that and ended up with a £160 fine and 5 points.

Think i'm currently on 8 points atm down from 11.

as for entrapment, does that not only apply if they were to actively make you speed/break the law, by say picking a race with you when they are in one the evo's ete they have. i know they have to be be able to be seen, but dont think entrapment some other law. i was almost got doing 90 on a 60 just noticed the vectra with tinted windows on otherside road and fella in a high visibility jacket on my side behind a tree, *******s, still no letter so im guessing didnt get me

if I remember correctly.. the police have to declare all of the locations for where they are to set up speed traps etc, they can use un-marked cars, but only in known acident blackspots. if you have a sat nav with an up to date speed camera database this will show you the places they are allowed to be. there are also websites out there displaying the rules and regulations surrounding laser traps. ie cabration, you can't zap people near lamp posts, tree's because they are found to reflect the laser and give incorrect readings! Check your rights & the law, its v strict on how poive may use such equipment. the lice often rely on your lack of knowledge of the laW & rights to gain a conviction . hope this is useful
