      BOTH

You cant use the manta like an audi, they will rot and fall apart. I hate taking mine out in the rain. there are a lot of cars about ireland that never see road as well, boys seem to just collect them. You do get a good turnout to the shows over here tho, up to about 25 was about our best.

Aye go on then - I'm hoping its a white 2.0 GTE with the twin lights... or even better a big scary Manta 400 rally speciale !

If it weren't for a certain Audi then I reckon the Manta would be my favorite car from the 80s - you had to be there really

Well, the Audi has developed a slight fault....It wont start, drove it today and it was fine, stopped in my driveway and it wont fire 5 mins later, no spark.

                      Any ideas anyone?

Check if it has a spark, might be the coil pack or pos playing up?

                            Just got one myself !!

For such a rare car these days i was amazed to see this thread at just the time i was gonna check the Forum out for info myself. I have just aquired a 80 MY92 2.8 Quattro saloon and am loking for a little help myself. Couple of things:

Only running on 4 at the mo. No spark on two but the offending coil Primary and secondary windings are same as the others inc the HT leads. However the ign module on the bulk head has 3 switched outputs to the coils and 2 are 0.6 volts DC at idle and one is only 0.3. I am suspecting the module but was looking for someone who may be able to share some info with me?

Secondly. I looked into wiring up the MIL "CAT" lamp as per Pauls "S2Central" suggests for the S2, however the grey/brown wire on the T5 pug is not there? does anyone have any idea where it is or a pin out for the ECU?

                            Cheers Guys,

PS Sorry you missed out on the car Paul, at least it went to another Forum member!!

Have you got switching on the injectors? Have you got any cyls sparking? If not then i would go straight to the crank sensor and check that. check for ac voltage on cranking and check the restance through it?
