Snetterton track day (warning pic heavy)

The track is good fun. It doesn't look challenging but it is. It's not till you really push it that the corners come alive and you realise how tricky some bits are! The back straight is one of the longest straights in the country. I was only doing 110 ish at the end, but some quicker cars were reaching 150+. This is followed by a gentle-ish left bend, which is then followed by a sharp right bend. You can very easily brake before the first left and take it easy approaching the right. OR the quicker way is to brake whilst going into the left bend and stay on the brakes all the way round, trailing the back end (hence all the sideways action
) then turn in for the right. One of my favourite corner complexes
Andy, I reckon when you're back on your feet you should get up there as it would be a perfect track for the S2
And yes, the tyres are 235/40 17Comment

Sounds like Combe, very fast with a couple of tricky corners but nothing to really get your teeth into like Donny. Have got a lot of tracks to get to, Snetterton is lower down the list TBH. Silverstone GP is pretty high up

Yeah, I know the complex you're talking about, seen it on telly many times, something to work up to
.
Quarry corner loses most of it's reputation when you get shown the line by an instructor, the trick is to enter the right hander in the middle of the track heading for the traffic lights, thus reducing the amout you need to turn. Most people try to get to the left hand side to take the classic racing line and that unsettles the car so they can't shift the weight for the right hander.
Had a large slide into the right hander back in 07 and then again into the Bobbies chicane, it's on youtube somewhere, doesn't look too bad on camera but kept me on my toes, 100mph in an S2 on Combe is far too easy. Might have been some oil on the track but it was fun
With the 25mm RARB and OE 26mm S2 FARB mines very lively, very controllable though, shame you can't hold it there on the power, there's too much grip and the TORSEN is too efficint, ja! In the wet at DOnny it was sideways most of the time, much to my amusement and anyone who went in the car. The application of neutral throttle cures this so you get great turn in and then have it all on the right line by the apex and then get monsterous traction out of the corners, very little in the sessions could touch the S2s on a lap although some tried and hats off to them they were having a lot of fun in the process!!!
Can't wait to get the leaner, meaner S2 on track and I'm looking forward to getting the BM out too, practice some drifting and that. Clutch kicking isn't recommended on the road although T junctions are now officially my favourite road feature :mischeif:
Want to get the BM out to the 'ring too as 30+mpg is a lot easier on the pocket than 20 and it's a bit cheaper if it goes awry.Cheers'en, AndyC
