    Are some CD's "unrippable"???

    Quick one.

Are some CD's now protected. I have just tried to rip Duffy Rockferry with windows media player and its having none of it.

    Any BTDT's?

    Cheers,

    Steve.

    right software and you can
can think any as i havent ripped music on windows in over 2 years and then buy online now

iv never had issues using itunes myself, since it has drm and all that

you could download on torrent, since you do have a real copy, so not illegal in your case get a backup that way. unless each copy has a unique id in the tracks...

Some are marked as being unable to play properly on PC, they do work but the full sound range seems to be unavailable?

Steve, you could try EAC. It is free to use too.

Thanks for the ideas, I have no experience ripping other than with Windows media player. I don't really do it that much only to put on my Passat Phatnoise music HD system. I will investigate on torrent.

              Cheers,

              Steve.

I've used EAC to rip some CD's to my MP3 player and store them in FLAC. Sounds great hooked up to my custom Class-A headphone amp and Sennheiser 600's

I wouldn't get hung up about copying my own CDs, they need to take a leaf out of Bluray's book and put a scratch-proof coating on them - I wish I could say I copy all of my CD's and keep the originals safe, but unfortunately I'm too lazy and alot of my CDs have gotten scratched.

Soooo, anyone got one of those CD resurfacing gadgets?

                      Yep!

I would imagine a Porter Cable in a vice with the correct polish would take the scratches out!

                      I have considered trying it.
