    Help Required Please!!!!!!!

After losing brake fluid from the reservoir i decided to track down the route cause of the problem, after having some pointers some forum members thanks, i removed the panel from underneath the steering wheel. On inspection it was discovered that the clutch master cyclinder is leaking from the rubber part, Can anyone give any pointers to the easiest way of removing the clutch master cylinder so i can either replace the whole thing or just the rubber piece which is leaking. Any help would be appreciated lads as i am starting to lose patience with the S2 as it seems to be falling apart with such low mileage i am surprised things are failing at such an alarming rate aaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhh

    thats vag coupe's for you.

to replace is easy. ensure you use a factory part. been there on the ECP/gsf ones. they are not right or made well.

its 2 bolts and the pipe off. then the brake line to the slave on the box.

bleeding it up is via the slave. i used a ratchet with a socket on it. loosen the 10mm nut on the linkage on the side of the box and it will then fit through the gap. turn the wheel to the drivers side for better access around the rack.

thanks gaz for the reply, can you explain for me in layman terms the position of the screws, are they the two allen head bolts situated under the steering column, where is the bleed valve ? Have you possibly got a audi part number for this??? Is this a common problem???

Steve, I highly recommend taking the drivers seat out and putting a couple of cusions on the floor when you do this. Replace the whole master cyl, the seal has gone inside and the rubber boot is only there to stop dirt getting in, not worth replacing the seal as they always go again in a couple of months BTDT on the ur.. Not easy to get to the slave for bleeding but Gazza has the method, you'll need to jack the car up and support it to get under and see the nipple, IIRC its on the left side of the bell housing. Good thing is, once done you've got another 100,000 miles or 10 yeaqrs before you'll need another one, at least these cars stay fixed when you fix them.
