There is just no room in the type 85/89 chassis between the frame rail...

    Motormounts are made from scratch, brake MC and pedal assy are from the a6 v6tt, as is the shifter.. T

    Good to hear from you Hank. It will be good to see pics and hear more about this. I do agree that it seems completely mental the more I think about it. Especially when you read that the downpipes don't fit past the CV joints after you get the bloody engine in!

    haha. aye I wouldn't have the slightest idea where to start. The engine he's been offered has already had £000s done to it he says so god knows what that involves. He's dead set on getting the engine anyway and I think the car it's going into is a secondary consideration. Might as well throw it in the back of a mini pickup or van and go really nuts

    Better have a big cheque book to tune the 2.7 no DIY on that bad boy He'll have MRC on speed dial

    www.Audisrs.com is also a good place for the B5 S4 => 2.7 BiT

    thanks lads. Great links. It's a whole lotta work eh? I thought it was cramped in there with a standard S2 engine but that looks just silly. I'll see if he's going ahead and if so get him registered on here to document the tale.

    one of the difficult things is the turbo's which are on the side of the engine, very difficult to make it fit. in a typ85 it won't fit for example.

    here's a pic of the RS4 in the fwd coupé:
