i never tried them on mine as the car is still in bits all i did was give them my samco boost and water hoses and they just measured them up and ordered the clips

Sorry, I was a bit off there, was wound up about something else. That said tho, ha ha, racial slur time is it? I'm being abused for my Celtic heritage now... One day the ginger brotherhood will strike!

Now then mr. Kormaboy , no worries. Firstly, thanks for taking the time to measure them all up. When I have some more energy I'll try and get pics of what where etc. Not possible at the mo I'm afraid. Perhaps I'm a little more picky than others? It took me 6 months to get round to fitting them, perhaps others still haven't... anyway, a set of high quality jubilee width clamps would be spot on!

I'vw used Mikalore clamps before and have found the same as Andy - unless you get the size perfect they don't fit right, and if you do they are a PITA to fit and then remove / refit as happens pretty frequently for most of us. Again, they are too wide for some joins and don't fot right.
I also have found that the hinged piece is pretty flimsy and breaks off the hinge nipples on the main clamp after you've had them on and off a few times. They also deform alloy pipe if you are not careful as they do not quite clamp in a pefect circle.

Having said that, the right sized ones do offer a far better seal than jubilees and can work well in the right place.

Keep going Raj! Thanks for the work on this one, a set of decent clamps would be nice to replace my crusty old ones! Might have to tie this in with accidentally acquiring a set of Samco H2O hoses!

Alright guys right update there is no clamp like the mikalor that has a smaller width band according to mikalor and various other makers (can only go by the supplier) what they have offered is he brand jubilee they offer a heavy duty version of there famous standard clips but believeit or not they are dearer than mikalor but i don't have prices as i just spoke to the guy yesterday as i was visting one of there other warehouses in the IND estate

So if this is a goer i need rusty to check what sizes we would need for the clips that did not fit as i have all the sizes still on me

Yeah thats not a problem we are still trying to thrash out a fix for some clamps that did not fit very well so untill thats resovled we can't move forwards i think its only a couple of hoses from what Andy has said but these heavy duty jubilee look the business they take a load more torque than the standard type hence more clamping force

                cheers Raj

                  Jubilee:-
                  • The 2 largest ones (MAF and TB), width is limited by a boss on the TB, MAF one needs to be sufficiently large to make fitting the hose easy (I think I have a 60-80 Jubilee back on and it's spot on, Mikalor was too tight due to interference between bend in pipe and the width of the Mikalor, this is a low pressure joint so Jubille is more than sufficient IMO).
                  • Both DV ones need to be Jubilee due to space and size of DV rebaits for hose clamps, also fitting DV (Forge) with teh Mikalor style ones was a no-go, had to undo them completely and then couldn't do them back up.
                  • Not sure if you've got one for the WGFV or breather but I'd go for Jubilee here due to space.

                  Mikalor:-
                  • I've not fitted it but I think the turbo outlet will be OK, loads of land for hose clamp to sit on.
                  • IC inlet should be fine, again not fitted but remember there to be lots of land.
                  • The XM outlet is fine, loads of land there, fitted this one.

                  Either / Unsure:-
                  • The XM outlet pipe to pipe that runs along the engine, engine side (my Mikalor fits here but it doesn't sit in the groove so I'd be happier with a Jubilee although the Mikalor looks manlier ), perhaps supply both?
                  • The TB boot to ISV, I've fitted a Mikalor one and it's OK but is really too big for the bit of pipe although Jubilees can move about and indeed the old Jubilee damaged this pipe and cause a boost leak by falling off somewhat.
                  • Turbo inlet is a ? , again, not fitted but space here is at a premium, the pipe is curved and the land on the turbo isn't massive, I'd say gut feel is Jubilee.

Hope that's clear, cheers for looking into this Raj.

If you were looking at water pipes too then I think you really need some stainless Jubilees here (so they don't rust), Mikalors will mince the plastic pipes and the rebaits aren't large enough for the Mikalor's girth.

I think the jubilee are stainless as well hence why they are dear but will confirm
Right Andy good work but your task is not over yet Infact i will let you off as i still have the samco hoses water and boost in a box so i will recheck the sizes and will figure out what hose's needed the jubilee from your graphic discription

Water Samcos are on 'the list'... Need to be really careful with the old plastic fixings as I found out last summer when I scaulded my face quite badly

Stainless ones with heavy duty fastenings will be nice, should make everything nice and air-tight.
