I'll dig it out later mate, it was along the lines of Audi's encouragment of the scrappage scheme that included S2 RS2 etc..

If anyone want me to send anything to Paul at Pistonheads I have his direct details.

As for the AUdi Forums, I have joined them and have posted up links where appropriate or added my encouragement to the posts already setup by existing NLA members. Need to get some active members of each forum on side really.

The forum in question is not breaking the trademark rules as it does not offer 'identical or similar goods and services'.

If using the name alone was an issue then every owners club and internet forum would be in breach (including this forum) and that does not just cover car clubs.

Trademaking is all about using names, brands and logos in competitive situations, not about total ownership of the name. Just think about how many products there are called 'esprit' or 'supra' for example. Toyota only have a TM to Supra WRT cars. My company has also Trademarked the word Supra.....for microscopes.

However, that said, logos are viewed differently as they are more unique and can be covered by other rules such as copyright, as well as trademarks so Sonic did the right thing there.

    Cheers n

Thats why ive not used the audi logo in the design

The logo (both the "audi" bit and audi rings) are trademarked, but they'd really struggle to get anywhere with a pretty generically used name alone - being used by a non-for-profit community.

Either way, coming down on an community of enthusiasts for using their name is going to make their PR even worse!

Don't forget the fact that we all love the brand and are trying to keep these cars on the road . They should be thanking Andy and the rest of us
