Even if they work is breaking the way forward

I do hate to see these cars being broken, BUT I completely understand the money situation... Think the right thing has been done here with it being put for sale as a perfectly good S2 (with some RS2 bolt-ons). Even if you don't get full asking price then you should still do well.
It is amazing how cheap they can go, but they won't be as tidy as yours with 4yrs of work and tweaks... Black is rare too in them so that *should* help with desireability... It would work for me personally as a 2nd S2 for daily use if it was bone stock and a lot cheaper. You might widen the appeal that way - as someone else suggested - you might get more parting out the 'go faster' bits and offering up the car as it left the factory (ish).Paul Nugent

I brought my 'Slipper Wagon' for cheap and its brilliant. From my POV im glad the owner didnt put it up for loads as I would not have been able to buy it. If I was in your shoes I would keep the engine mods as you intend to buy another one at some point and sell the rest of the car. That way you can mod your new car and still make money from this one.
Thats my suggestion of what I would do. I know everyone is different so good luck to you dude. And BTW.... I love how you have made it look! Wish I had the money to do mine like that.Comment

By the way, if you decide to strip some stuff of it to sell, I have some stuff we could p/x :dComment

i can see both points of view here but at the end of the day a car is a x year old piece of metal. personally i think we are lucky some still see 5k.
its only cos we are enthusiasts we pay over the odds for problematic cars.
the ford guys are even more crazy with their money. battered old escorts and festers go for stupid money tin worm, bog and all.Comment

If you would own a LHD S2 which is in a mint condition and ABY variant you should sell it in The Netherlands. 2 Weeks ago somebody from our S2 forum sold his S2 coupe ABY in mint condition for 10k Euro. Just a tip from my side
I am really surprised that the S2 prices in NL have gone up the last year. They are very rare nowadays.Comment

They are very rare in the uk now too!
I keep an eye on ebay, autotrader, pistonheads etc to spot new ones for my Avant register.
This time last year there was always a good selection for sale, now its literally a handful here and there.
I think the reason for the old rotten Fords fetching strong money constantly is due to having a HUGE following and high demand for good ones, where as the S2 has a very small following and low demandComment
