One I snapped at Hemsby rock n roll last year ...Deuce 5 window running a very unsilenced Oldsmobile engine ...this is proper patina (and the diff had pinstripe art on it which was pretty neat considering it's barely visible). It had no side windows, no back window, and virtually no interior. Very traditional!

people have been doing it around me for a year or two on their vw and audis.. not the whole car like that but hoods mostly.. i think it looks stupid.. it belongs on rat rods and it fits the personality of the car.
however it does not belong on a new mk5 gti

Im into aircooled dubs. I love this look on a split bus after it has been left in the arizona desert for 30- 40 years and it has bubbled and bleached the paint. It looks even better if the van still has original sign writting on it that has also faded and bleached, however when the golf boys do it to their cars with salt and a sander, i think it ruins the whole rat theme. In my eyes its also a cheap way of finishing off a car that has been bodged together and they dont want to or cant afford to get it painted properly.
