I'm sure Mark won't mind with this particular thread, I was quoted €1,250 + vat for a new roof / window in Dublin, but need to talk with the principal in the firm to see what's what exactly.

Also following a similar thread re Boxsters in Dublin. If I find out any useful info I'll advise.

If you go across the water and get it sorted you might advise also.

Someone might have an idea of where to get similar plastic and what glue to use to stick it over the existing "torn" plastic window as an interim measure, as it can only look a bit better than gaffer tape currently in place ?

    Any suggestions ?

    Thanks.

Well we bought a Fabia VRS, and what a fantastic little car it is. Does everything well, goes like stink when you want it to, will cruise around at 1500rpms when you dont want to. And will sit all day at 90mph getting 40-50mpg.

Handles great too, very much a sporting ride as you just want to chuck it into corners a little bit faster then you should. And the in gear acceleration is just silly for a car its size. I have a feeling its going to be hard on front tyres :mischeif:

Back to the Skodas.. they're brilliant. Driven a few of them and they FLY with a map on them. A mate of mine has one which I mapped for him, it's his fault I went and bought my Octavia vRS! The PD130 is a cracking engine if a bit clunky.

Would like one for the mrs but not sure I want to put ~£5k into another car at the moment, plus she only passed her test in November.
