ain't that the truth....my bikes worth more than my car....well nearly...

Right, I collected my DB today and have been throwing it round my Garden. I LOVE IT .

I need a decent helmet, so what do I go for:

      Giro (Istoo recommended),
      Specialised
      or other???

I know there are some 50-60% replacement schemes if damaged but what is a good deal.

I have a Giro Havoc, and while it's a nice helmet the side straps don't sit flush on your face because of the adjuster....my brothers lid from Decathlon is comfier and was like a third the price!!! Something to watch out for!

I, as the others, use a Giro (Zen) but it is worth trying a few on as head shapes a often very different....and as Ducky says shop around....

              glad you like the bike.....

helmets, shoes and gloves are something of a persoanl thing, do make sure they fit, as ill fitting ones are a nightmare.
most of the giros or indeed any of the new helmets have a 4 point fix where there is an inner cage if you like which fits to your head then the protective shell around the outside. But do try some on in a bike shop first.
Gloves, full finger only! The sizing varies wildly, i have wide hands but some have long stringy fingers. good palm protection without bunching up when holdin ghe bars is what you want. outer protection is a boost but not essential. You will note some have towleing or absorbant material on the back of your hand, to absrob your sweaty brow.. a must for me!

Shoes. if you get into using SPDs then try some on. most bike shoes are long and thin, and i have wide feet. so try on a heap. Some trainer variants now as well. But equally as well good flatties (you can still buy shimano DX pedals!!!) will grip very well, as well as being good at removing shin skin.

which takes me to the last thing, further down the line, but armour might be worth a thought., look at this idiot who forgot about that.

bike racks will be the last question, its a royal PITA getting the bike in and out of the 90, probably going for a removable towbar and rack on that.
