With a boost leak I got done by a Vdub Caddy van, much to the amusement of my cousin sat next to me. Had a red 1.8 Celica with black bonnet (looked awful) pushing me on a dual carriage way up in the Lakes whilst only making 0.3bar of boost, he **** it on the bends though, where mine was on rails. My mates Stage 3 280bhp MR2 Turbo gets me upto 60 all the time, after that and mine pulls past no problem. Been dropped by many a bike, though as a biker I always know that'll be the case (any driver who claims to 'beat' a bike must've either met someone who really doesn't know how to even approach their bikes limits, or have serious power, in excess of about 450bhp or so to come close as my Nothelle gets dropped easily by a standard 600, and my 250 would thrash it upto its top speed of 130!). Had a 'chipped' 335D fend me off upto 120, very quick motor, and an e46 M3 was very close too. No Jap stuff other than the MR2 has tried.

Oh yeah, the Caddy van then went on to pass a v6 Vectra off the lights, with the Vectra going for it too... My next car is gonna be a Caddy van

Small consolation when I found out later that it'd had a turbo conversion and was producing at least 100hp more than my standard S2.

Im waiting for my brother to put the other head on his mk 1 caddy van with a mk3 gti lump in it. Its close as it is, with my boot full of wheels n tools and once he puts the other head on im only gonna race him with my boot empty and a tank of optimax! Cant be done by his poo truck!

Got done couple of days ago from some lights up a slip road by a new Carrera 4s. Only just though. The bloke looked a bit surprised to see me keeping close in an old car with a boot and being young myself. Dont think he expected that!

never really been beaten in the S2 but when i was in my 10v UR a Focus RS slaughtered me, but this thing was not standard it was rapid. Would like to have gone against it in my 350hp S4 or now in my RS2 coupe!

1. Last week a Volvo T5 ran me hard until 130 The exhaust was non standard so I assume he had other mods.

2. A Scooby estate with a super gun for an exhaust sat with me in continual sprints from 60-120 and probably would have pulled away had he been in front.

3. A new mini round a set of off-camber switchbacks. I could stay with him, but I was using all 4 tyres to the max and they were all squealing like burning piggies. His tyres were silent I think I need a bigger RARB

4. Talking of bikes, a mate has a ZX-10....it is a feckin monster....80 odd in first He was buzzing me as we were about to join a dual carriage way so rather than turning left on to the slip road, I went all the way round the roundabout (double flyover jobbie) and then went down the slip road.

- When I reached the top of the sliproad, he was miles behind....'You've been Quattro'd my son'
- When I was half way down and in triple figures, he was still nowhere in sight.....I5 power
- Just before I hit the dual carriage way he came past me on the back wheel....as I said...fecking monster

Since getting mine running properly, only thing to get close to beating me was an Astra VXR. Loads of young lads round here with 2.0 fitted in there Peugeots and played with a few of them on the A540 carriageway. Let them keep up to the lights then when they wheelspin off the line floor it into the distance. Z4 thought he had a chance this morning but shot past him in 5th and slowed again. He stuck to my bumper until the roundabout and then floored it in 4th upto 100 and pulled away easily. Hope to get the final upgrades fitted before something faster comes along...such as new 300bhp RS focus.. There is a rapid TT round here too with MTM badges, very quick off the line but not been in the Cq when I've seen him.

I think Dest summed it up quite quickly lol LOADS of faster stuff about these days so I try not to put myself in that position with any local cars as a: I'll never hear the end of it b: They'll do anything to proove their faster so c: I'll wait until I finish off the few mods I'm currently doing then consider it lol

Current beatings have come from a few GTR's, 398hp RA Impreza, Mk3 Astra Turbo I built the engine for which destroyed me...sulk, E60 M5 and several cossys although I knew not to play with them although you just have to try your luck.

I've managed to have some fun with a 350z thats local, seems I have the legs on that and he was certainly trying, another time was a Astra VXR Nurburgring edition which I toasted in a 5th gear pull a S4, a S3 and a Stage 2 Ibiza have all also felt the wrath of the real S badge car. (on a private air strip I might add)

The only thing that dissapoints me with the S2 is simply its weight, you can't touch most modern machinery simply due to how much lighter they are, a mates GTR is same age, similar weight and even on low boost just walks away from most things, stupidly fast for a stock engine, IMO just a different league to the S2 but I'm not one for jap cars which is why I went German.

I'd guess the GT3071 conversion really livens up the S2, I'm just not convinced at the weight they are if its really enough to compete against many of those cars that have already destroyed me.

One thing is for certain and thats that no car I mentioned sounds anything near as good as the S2 on full chat
