Current beatings have come from a few GTR's, 398hp RA Impreza, Mk3 Astra Turbo I built the engine for which destroyed me...sulk, E60 M5 and several cossys although I knew not to play with them although you just have to try your luck.

I've managed to have some fun with a 350z thats local, seems I have the legs on that and he was certainly trying, another time was a Astra VXR Nurburgring edition which I toasted in a 5th gear pull a S4, a S3 and a Stage 2 Ibiza have all also felt the wrath of the real S badge car. (on a private air strip I might add)

The only thing that dissapoints me with the S2 is simply its weight, you can't touch most modern machinery simply due to how much lighter they are, a mates GTR is same age, similar weight and even on low boost just walks away from most things, stupidly fast for a stock engine, IMO just a different league to the S2 but I'm not one for jap cars which is why I went German.

I'd guess the GT3071 conversion really livens up the S2, I'm just not convinced at the weight they are if its really enough to compete against many of those cars that have already destroyed me.

One thing is for certain and thats that no car I mentioned sounds anything near as good as the S2 on full chat
Think I've just been lucky so far looking at your post. Weight is certainly an issue with the S2. How they managed to make it 200Kg heavier than my series 2 Cq is beyond me. Guess mine weighs around 1260kg now with this engine in it so lighter than a series 5 Golf or new S3 which is very noticeable and useful advantage.

I've come from a scene of pocket rockets, had a turbo nova, a seriously specced na 16v which tbh was a different sort of fast with all those revs to use, the largest car I've owned was a Sierra but with 130hp that got beaten by the Milk Float lol
I'm currently building a Grp 4 Mk2 Escort which I have a engine specced for 500hp ready to go in so one way or the other I'll get most people back given the chance as the car will weigh in at about 1000kgs.

Anyway thats miles off topic, you are right I'm massively unlucky that the locals have such nice cars, I've only been one long drive up north and although plenty of cars tried it on I was on a mission to get some good consumption so stayed below 80 the whole way ! painful is not the word lol

I'm hoping with a few subtle engine mods the car will perform a lot better but as said you realy are fighting against the weight so in one way it seems pointless chucking loads of money at something that doesn't give blistering performance for the money spent.

Maybe someone with a powerful one will take me out in it one day and I'll change my tune

Just look cool! (well if the air con is working).
        That'll stump them.

On my way to goodwood yesterday I had some fun with a Ferrari 550. Off the roundabout i could keep with him, just a little slide where he had a serious 'wiggle' (Got to love quattro ). After that it was all over. He was still absolutely flying away from me when I had hit 130. Needless to say I gave up then.

had a good run in with an astra vxr (240bhp?) on A1 on way to newc airport last year

he was in front, dual carriageway

i followed him every time traffic moved over and left the fast lane free for us

first 2x i followed him from 3rd into 5th all the way to 125

            nothing in it

last time we were up to 135 again nothing in it

i couldn't have got past him, he couldn't pull away from me

thought he might have let me cruise past gently once the traffic got too busy, just so he could work out what 18 yo car kept up with him, but no....

have to say i was quite surprised with my standard 220 3b

still need it to be faster though!!

Found it very difficult (and embarassing!) trying to shrug off an S Class today but it just stuck to my bumper. Eventually it ripped passed me to reveal 'Brabus K8' on the back...so not that embarassing afterall.

                This is what it was...
Audi S2 Avant, 1995, ...and it begins with a Homefry
Audi 80 Sport, 1986, ...my first car...wish I still had it

Just about every thing at the Mo. Thinking of using it as the local entry for Guy Fawkes.

If you've got a homefry an astra VXR has no chance, one of my favourite anihallations was a c9ck in a VXR who thought he was king
