Fitted Newsh's spring this evening and had some interesting results. More testing to do tomorrow. With some fettling to the WG pre-load spring, I managed to get the WG to crack at 13PSI... will report on the other findings tomorrow, I'm trying to get my head around the many different inputs for the WG system and its mechanical control. The cracking force seems to be the easy bit, it's the rest of it involving flow rates and characterstics that need some thought. I'll get there, it's the sort of thing I enjoy

Has anyone run an 034 spring without the WGFV connected? Does it give a constant boost or does it increase / drop off on an ABY.
Andy, please could you send me the spring and I'll send it to Newsh when I return his, gives me another item to test then too

Not sure what the end goal of this thread is, but if you guys are looking to get better deals on these springs, feel free to contact us for group buy or quantity discounts, rather than copying our products. We can do custom runs as well.
We're more than willing to help out!
As for a couple of questions in this thread, the boost profile ultimately depends on the turbo, but it's designed to hold a flat 1.9bar through the rev band. Large turbos will typically creep higher towards redline, this is a function of the wastegate size more than the spring.----------------

Thanks for the offer of a group buy, once I have a clearer picture of what it is I want I will be in touch.
At the moment I'm investigating what factors affect the WG performance because it's something that interests me and I can't remeber it being discussed that much before. There are quite a few springs that I will be testing with my turbo to understand the effects of pre-load, spring rate and suchlike. As for being accused of copying, if I decided to go my own route then I would have a custom solution manufactured to my design rather than get a copy made of any of the products I tested, at least one of which is a stock sized spring anyway.Cheers'en, AndyC

Hi Newt,
As a previous repeat customer of yours i don't have any issues buying from 034 at all... only problem it does present is shipping, never an issue when I'm ordering turbo's etc but for a spring it's nearly half the cost! It just doesn't make sense. Unless it's a group-buy and I'm sure Andy will be in touch if the if's decided the 034 spring is most suitable and there is enough interest to make it economical.
To back up Andy's comments the questions here about the 034 spring are not to try and copy it, but to see if it's more appropriate and worth going down that road. Between us we've got a number of springs for testing to see what works best, if one is spot on with a current supplier then it will be used, but if a customised spring looks the best option for Paul's remap then they will be fabricated to that specification. Please don't be offended if that happens.

Yeah, I understand all those points, and there's nothing wrong with information. Just offering that there's no need to re-invent the wheel if you're looking for a 1.9b spring, we can do group shipments to drastically cut down on costs. If someones going to do a run out there I wager we'd be able to beat whatever pricing was offered, including shipping. Plus we typically have a bunch in stock, so it's an off the shelf, no-wait order.----------------

I've basically been looking into creating a mathematical model of the WG so that I can work alongside a tuner on here to produce a k24 specific spring and map setup for a racier version of the already highly suyccessful homefries range. The spec is now not 0.9bar and as such if people want 0.9bar springs then the 034 item is there. I am looking at a few other options with the tuner too, these springs will be available on the open market but will have been designed to work with a specific chipset, a tamer version might also be offered for use with other homefries products.Cheers'en, AndyC
