whats an s2 avant worth in bits?

am contemplating breaking my s2 for bits as im past wanting to keep fixing it (as its like a full time job atm) and fed up of running a car thats slow as fook but demands 500bhp economy

so whats it worth in bits?

s2 avant with 130k
in the last 3000k engine has had
new turbo
wastegate
ecu
all water pipes
rebuilt head
£500+ worth of sensors
maf
n75
reserc valve

is in amerthyst pearl
carbon inserts
cloth interior

i suppose it depends if all the mechanical bits are standard....

why not try and sell as a complete car??.....

i wouldnt wish this car on anyone, has a stupid boost problem i've never been able to fix so selling as is would mean giving it away and its been a money pit for me from day one, so seems it is the only option to try and make some of my money back.

ever thought of just getting the combined will of this place to resolve the boost problem or BTDT already???

Surely someone near you on the forums could help fix that boost, if only to save another avant going to S2 heaven.
I know exactly what you mean, there is a healty dose of buyers remorse when working bringing back an S2 from the edge but that should all go away when driving it
Unfortunately, I have mine now 6 weeks and have yet to drive it 500yards lol .. so much to do. But it is your car, and you gotta do what you gotta do.

Oh and thanks for the wheels, its great to have originals on the S2 again

I'm wondering if the IC itself has a leak, had this on mine and MRC had it welded.

There is also the chance the ECU is not seeing WOT

how u mean? i've been chasing this and every other issue for 4 months since i had this car, its chewing at my whallet like a propper project car yet i brought it cus i thought time for something nicer than a rattly old golf i cant leave alone. lol

If the ECU does not see the throttle fully open it wont give full boost, you can check this in vagcom although you are seeing a bar.

Also have you verified the pipes to the WGFV are connected in the right order?

i've checked the ic removed it and pressure checked it while doin the mark h mod.

i have a thread about the problem, but i know ppl are trying to help but it seems i've tried everything and its time consuming for me (and trying to run a business) working on a car for hours at a time for no results only steps back.

some of u may not know but im actually a vw specialist by trade and build converted golfs corrado's etc with 1.8t's vr6 r32 conversion my forte so its a matter of pride that im addmitting defeat by a standard car

set the tb with vagcom last week, have repiped all the vacume pipes in the engine bay checked and double checked..

im sure i've been here befor..

I had a boost-like problem with my avant but the forum came to the rescue!!....as you mentioned my avant is also a "money-pit/skip"
terms my wifey uses to describe my car......but the grin factor makes up for the running costs...

In the thread where you described when you got the car, it had a boost problem and that was the reason for it being parked up, you found the ecu had water damage, was the ecu replaced?

i think i've given it more than a good go to fix it, you guys on here have been awsome with some good advise. yet i still dont have the grin factor so to speak just my mates in stock 150bhp cars giving me a pasting all the time and getting a lot more than 18mpg..lol
