Need to spray some 2pk underseal and know you need to be very careful with this stuff - read lots of info online (which you can never really trust
), and I know really you should wear a forced air respirator for it due to the Isocyanates in the vapour - but I have found that some regular organic vapoour masks are certified for use with Isocyanates, with AB1 and P2 filters.
I can borrow a forced air respirator off my GFs bro's company for a weekend no problem, but trouble is my compressor won't run that and the spray gun at the same time
As far as i can tell the HSE recommend forced air respirators becasue Isocyanates are odourless and tastelss so you can't tell when your tradition mask filters have run out and arn't doing their job anymore - i'll obviously only be spraying for an hour max really.
I really don't want to kill myself or give myself any health issues, especially not permanent ones as IsoCy can cause, but is a forced air respirator really neccessary for this small job over a decent approved organic vapour mask?
Can anyone who knows about this stuff offer any advice?
Cheers
Alex
