Sorry, I don't understand why you would go for your MOT with anything other than totally hot cats.
Easier said than done if you have a 7,50am appointment with rush hour traffic, then they do the emmissions test last so the car has been stood for 40minutes. (Some of the time the engine is ON, but only at idle...)
I don't know if ALL MOT test regimes are the same, but my place does everything in the same order every time...
Cheers,
Steve.

I think they are all the same now aren't they? With it being computerised, you get a set order of doing things and a set time to do them in.
Something about stopping dodgy MOT stations from trying to do too many in a day and not being thorough enough.
Seem to remember that from somewhere but could be way off.
My emissions test is always one of the last things to check and you never get straight in. The car inevitably sits around for a while.

Yup agree with you there jas, when my s2 went in for the mot I had to have the car there for a certain time, if I missed my slot then it didn't get mot'd on that day and had to be booked in again.
I had to be there for 8AM, they had just managed to slot me in as a favour.
I was'nt going to get up at some silly time in the morning to go for a blast (in busy traffic) to get it warmed up!
Plus as Steve said, it had sat there for the best part of an hour anyway so would'nt of been at full temp anyway
My new test station are amazing. Won t say who on the forum, but will pm their name etc.
Took quattro while back now.
rear fog inop ( fuse gone, never mentioned the front ones)
Minor corrosion in chassis leg
Advise boot floor metal too thin for tow bar! Not that i ve got one fitted.
pitted rear disc, play in one fron ball joint
WHen revving car for him to test ommisions I wondered why it passed so easily-probe was in his hand, not up the zorst!
As for the brake test-he asked me if they were good n I said yes.
Then the bar stool bought out a fail sheet-for the fog light!
Pass sheet was underneath with advisory list
They prefer old interesting cars to test
Going with mate tomorrow with his Turbo trans Am ( but that ll fail, piece o sh*te)
