I "may" have a spare handle/lockplate etc i'll have a look, had a couple in black a while ago, if so i'll post them down.

That would be great if you have, I need the type with the lock barrel built into the plate. Cars with the factory alarm had a different type where the plate could be detached from the barrel. Colour isn't a problem as I can spray it.

Plans for the moment are to replace all the locks and repair the small amount of damage to the door, then fit an immobiliser. I'm going to try and get the exhaust to a state where it'll pass an MOT but ultimately it's going to need replacing (It was a problem before the car was stolen). Then I just need some new plates, and some insurance and it'll be MOT time. I need to find out what my friend wants to do with it beyond that, it's still his car and he's back in a few months now.

Toad alarms come recommended. I've got a cat 1 Ai606 on my red coup. Even the mechanics at the garage can't get it started!

Seconded. In 4 years of ownership of the ai606 it has been faultless not a single false alarm but a couple of genuine ones

@Acidburn - I've changed the passenger side lock cylinder today and it has the alarm type body, I don't think it matters what type of plate I use as the cylinders are the same so if you have either type it would be fine.

I'm pleased to see the Toad Ai606 is so popular as that is what I bought yesterday. It was recomended to me by a few people and it seems to be great value.
