For me the initial asked prices were too high once I saw what was really needed to get them in good shape. I do have to say Ash is a nice chap to talk to, but it put's me off how the cars are threated by just having them rust away in that barn. He is a real trader in that respect.
His motto of 'You pay what you get' is true, and I have seen it with my own eyes now. I was somewhat mislead by the good looking pictures he made of the cars on PHs. What I learned from this UK visit is that good solid 10v UrQs start at 7-8k GBP. Period.

In case you have a small project budget like me your better off looking at a true Audi enthousiast that sells his beloved UrQ. Or build something else your self

That 1984 car needed more then just flattening & polish. You told me it had been painted by the previous owner and had a orange skin effect on the paint. Well I think it looked more like some one used a normal brush to paint it. A repaint is needed for sure. Rust bubbles started to come on one of the rear wings and the paint around the windscreen was not good either. Still the overal body looked solid.
The interiour was far more worse then just that bolster on the drivers seat. IIRC the steering wheel and also floor carpet were needing a replacement too.
When you started the engine and had it heaten up cooling water was dripping from inlet and return hoses. They are all hardened out as we checked them. I would not dare to drive that car home.

Why don't you put up interiour and engien bay pics of that cars PH advertisement in the first place? Would help a lot.

I am not saying that you are lying here Ash, but for me the impression of the car via PH and what I heared over the phone looked more promising then the actual thing, hence I say that I have now realized a good 1984 or 1986 UrQ will cost at least 7-8k.
