IMO a b3 90q 20v would be a better option than a 20v coupe, lighter and stiffer. Also fairly easy to find and get parts for compared to an older 90 as they are getting harder to find rust free.
Audi Coupe Quattro (any good for rally?)

Yeah it's getting a roll cage, which will either be bolted and welded or just welded in 6+ point.
Any recommendations where I can get one?Comment

Everyone else is saying B4 90q saloon?
What exactly did they change to make it better (what did they make lighter and what did they do to make it stiffer...etc)?Comment

I'd say the B3 Saloon has the stiffer shell as it has a rear bulk head. The B4 however has no rear bulk head but benefits from vastly superior rear suspension.1990 B3 2.0 80 quattro.

I was saying that a b3 saloon is more suitable than a coupe for the reasons above.
A b4 has a better rear suspension set up.
Also if you are running with the stock engine what b4 engine would you want to use?
I just remembered this thread on motorgeek, should give you some info on suspension set up and possibly some more info.

Here's a video from the only canadian tarmac rally. We haven't finished because of the 4th gear who broke at the 3rd stage. We managed to change the oil and take out some gear tooth from the tranny, so we could go and try to finish the rally with 3 stage to go, and only 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 5th...
There is also a guy on there, Mark (squid on MG) who has a 20v na rally car with 300>hpCurrent-2004 Impreza PPP wagon
