    Twitchy back end....

Well after changing onto my 'winter wheels' and replacing the tyres, my car doesn't feel nowhere near as "planted" as it used to...could the tyres be my down fall??..falkein (i cannot remember the actual range number... )
could it be some part of my suspension?...
there is no noise to highlight a faliure of a part....

This is making me nervous and with the winter "fun" fast approaching I would like to either slow down or solve my scary "I am going to send you sideways" feeling!!

Any tips are gratefully received...and I know it is difficult guess over the t'internet..

    Cheers
    Mike

Winter tyres dont have as stiff "sidewalls" if you know what i mean, so it gets little wobbly sideways

One thing i've learned we are way behind the Scandinavians!

Maybe the tyres just need a good scrubbing in?

Falken tyres...... You pay for what you get, plus the extra flex in side wall = less grip and feel!
Probably the longet S2 project in history EVER!

          Is it:

          a) Generally noticeable.
          b) More pronounced in the ruts trucks make in motorways.
          c) More pronounced on crosswinds.

          ?

it is very noticable and has been mentioned it could be my tyres...lesson learnt, cheaper doesn't mean they are any good!!!....but I will scrub them in...

Tyre pressures, should be 36 all round for normal 205/55R16 summer tyres, put them to that and then adjust as necessary. They're never going to give the same feel as summer tyres and in conditions like today, here in Brissol, that's a damned good thing

I'd look at the wishbone bushes and the rear inboard tie rod bushes first, then I'd check the left leg of the rear subframe for cracks.
