    audi free mot.. 50pound insurance

got a letter through the door the door the other day telling me about audi's free mot's it also says i can pay 50pound and itll cover me for 750pounds worth of work what will 750 get me lol also the car was originally a 16v now its a 10v turbo. will that matter? i know the brakes are in need of attention as the pedal goes to the floor, so rather than piss about i'm thinking i may aswell pay the 50 and let them get on with it lol anyone else done this? or will they just say... your taking the mick, jog on?

This could be a good way to make some money out of the dealers.

Get your car pre checked and passed by a friendly garage, then bolt on a set of crap old brakes and have audi replace the whole lot with oem at there cost!
Is this offer open to anyone?

I went for my free MOT last summer, they tried to con me out of the best part of 300 quid for a new seatbelt, when there was nothing wrong with the one in there. If anyone is taking them up on the offer, be sure to check over any 'fails' yourself before giving them the go-ahead to do any work........

Don't be sucked into this, 'nothing is for free' I took the TT in last year for the mot and came back with a long list. Had it re mot'd by an impartial garage and it flew through. I would be very interested if VOSA were involved with a secret shopper
car, to see how that got on with a free mot?

I used this on my RS2 last year ( the free MOT) and it did what it said on the tin .... free MOT ... car passed , no cost ( and they changed a bulb for free ....) .
What's the issue - would you get any MOT station to repair your car if it failed ?

'Any mot station' should have the same standards as the next. Percentage wise Audi appear to be taking advantage.

Audi are doing it to get revenue and sales.
A friend of mine took her a3 in for an mot last year. It failed so badly that they told her she may as well trade it in a get a new car which she did...
