Windscreen washers have stopped working

I tought you can buy a pump with the autocheck function and without it. So if i remember correctly the warning is in the pump.

@quattro20v yes you are right. For cars built from 1992 onwards.

yep, 3-pin connector on the autocheck pumps. Mega money from audi. Got mine for £18 from ebay ("a8parts"). It was off a 4.2 A8 i think.

Reached under and gave the wiring and pump a wiggle and now seems ok, I did wonder if the pump had autocheck as it has 3 pins in the plug and I couldn't see another connector.. If you pop the cover off the motor though the motor just drops out and has the 3 pins so I've no idea how the check system works, there is a small pcb there though so maybe it connects to something. The pump does have 2 connections to the tank via grommets, the one at the bottom where the pipe to the jets connects and another near the top which goes in horizontally. The fliud level must be sensed by this one, possibly there was a bubble of air in it.
