    New ROLLING ROAD RESULTS

This was my 2nd time on the same rollers at Leeds.
first time i pulled 297bhp\314lb\ft but with high afr climbing from
    11s@3300rpm to 13.5@5600 {to high}
Todays run ,318bhp\331ib\ft [256@wheels],with the addition of
    RS2 INJECTORS
    044 FUEL PUMP
    JETEX REAR BOX
    MTM RS2 SPEC ECU,
Not a great deal more bhp imo it does feel alot more to me
Robs RS2mtm chipped did 308bhp\318lb\ft on the same rollers .
The dyno guy said im pulling to much boost @1.8bar to early creating
to much heat resulting in retardation ,if i reduced this the power should
go up ,im guessing you can only do this with a custom map he did
say to use a manual boost controller to keep the boost steady and lower.
    in comparison his EVO6 did 325bhp with 252lb\ft .

i would say dont listen to him. Your car will retard on the rollers esp.if there is not enough flow from the fans. On the open road it should be fine, esp on the cold UK weather.

Best thing to do is mod the airbox to have as much cold air as possible and it should be fine!
    Good numbers by the way

That's not great, is this a small hybrid or full RS2 spec turbo? What EM and exhaust are you running? 2.75" turbo back is the minimum for RS2 spec (as per stock RS2), backbox is far away from the turbo so has minimal effect compared to a 3" DP, you need more girth

RS2 intercooler has been used on 400+bhp projects so I doubt that's got much to do with it. Same goes for Motronic, it's been used on loads of serios projects and even more RS2 spec projects, custom map is the way forwards but TBH you want to have finalised hte spec of the car as multiple maps at £500 a piece aren't going to be too easy on the pocket.

Boost controllers are a matter of choice, if you get it mapped to use the boost controller then I can imagine that it will be a very useful tool indeed, just fitting it will cause the engine all sorts of headaches (as I found out with a stiffer WG spring, car was stuttery and rough), could be a nice option if you're happy with the spec of the car and want to get the most out of it. Of course, a custom map should do the same thing really and will have all the safeguards built in to the stock ECU. I personally liked the stiffer WG spring, worth looking in to if you want a lot more performance on part throttle, this makes part load cornering better and reduces the lag when WOT is applied to exit a corner.

I seem to remember that Rob's RS2 was down on power when he was at the Combe RR.

Why not ditch the MTM and go for another proven ECU solution like the MRC chips (for RS2 turbo)? With the right exhaust the high boost variety have been used to great effect by a few on here.

Good luck with it, seems to have been a bit of a struggle this one.

MRC are about to have a rolling road of their own.

          I'd get a custom remap.

Andy it runs hybrid turbo ,the cold side is rs2 not sure on the hot side but it is
larger than std k24,ive also got the RS2 ex manifold ,inj ,Airbox Supersrint DP
race cat .i mentioned the back box because if you saw the old one you would have laught at the build and design .Minea did say he saw
close to 350bhp with this turbo and on the road it feels it .

If your MTM K26 hybrid is close in size to the one that was on my Nothelle 300, and rumour has it that they are similar, then 320BHP is going to be about the safe upper limit and 1.8 bar is pushing it a bit.

I've been on the phone to AET turbos for sometime discussing the spec of my Nothelle turbo so I'm fairly well informed when it comes to small K26 hybrids, well better informed than I was . Your MTM unit may use a bit larger compressor wheel than my old Nothelle one in which case you should be good for a bit more power than 320BHP. It's a job to say without having them side by side for comparison.

I think im going to go the same route as nip and get the lager hybrid RS2 \\k26\27
and matching chip set ,which should give more than 380BHP ,but i doubt that on my dyno\

the rs2 MTM stage one ECU chips are 330hp and 470Nm. So hitting 318 on a dyno is roughly ok, concidering the chance of a slight retard secondary to high IATs.

True, you can get lots more hp now with this setup, but that means spending more $$$. If you are after more hp, thats fine, but this setup is working properly, nothing wrong with it.

Maybe to justify the price. Though if he's quoting 350 BHP your MTM turbo has to have a slightly larger compressor than my old Nothelle one, well you'd hope so anyway. Are you sure the cold side is full RS2 spec?

I'm having mine rebuilt using a genuine k24 7200 back plate and compressor wheel with my old compressor housing machined out to suit. On AET's advice I'm retaining my Nothelle turbine wheel, but this is going into a machined out K24 turbine housing. Apparently combined with a 360 bearing this should safely hold 2.0 bar and be capable of 380BHP as well as destroying my engine if not properly mapped.

Just get a custom remap, sounds like there room for improvement there but the rest is about there fir 330bhp ish. Seems like a lot of money to get 20 bhp more than my stock ABY :NA:

You should be good for 350BHP safely then, just need the car mapped properly to take advantage of your set up, which is very simalar to mine by the sounds of it, bar the 3B/ABY bit. I'm going to be looking too MRC in about six months time, they should have their rolling road well and trully up and running by then.

Bare in mind as well that's what what 'that' dyno said, another may say 350, another 300.

Have to say I'm really impressed with the design of the Jetex back, though as Rusty points out it's the other end that's most important, the Supersprint DP is reckoned to be very good though. An RS2 intercooler wouldn't do any harm, are you still on the ABY one?

Stick with your current turbo over a K26/27, that is if your after a nice fairly lag free power delivery, your hybrid should be capable of serious torque at relativity low rev's. A K26/27 will be able to produce more outright power though.
