Windscreen washer fluid. Whenever I put "non audi" screen wash into my car it stinks of eggs. Audi are great at making sure you you stay brand loyal to every type of consumable!
newsh check the battery, make sure it isnt being fried. ive seen this before, perhaps alternator overcharging and frying the battery. take a smell in the boot where the battery is.
What does the voltmetre say on the dash?
I had the same smell, and it turned out to be the rear seat which was pressed down onto the battery-poles and fried the battery. Didnt have the original battery with protective guard over the plus-pole. So it can definatly be a battery issue!
Im sticking with my "its not been driven on full boost for a while and the cats have just warmed up properly"
My mums car does the same everytime I drive it, she never gives it a hard run
Good advice all round chaps, I'll check out all these things. BTDT on the screen wash, could be that, Halfords posh stuff with "aromatherapy" smells nice though, got that in the coupe..
Ian this is the "new" Avant so stock S2 power levels, as my lad said "Its very smooth and quiet Dad"
reckon its screen wash, have the same thing happening to me when i clean the screen, its fooking awful, noticed it first when me and the missus were heading down to worthing last weekend...i did the honorable thing...and blamed her!
but it was the washer bottle...its awful...anyway of emptying??? or should i jst dilute it?
When this happened on the coupe I put the hosepipe down the filler and just let it run to flush it out. There must be a mixture of 2 types which starts the chemical reaction, I've been on the Halfords posh stuff since and quite like the smell.
