    not getting much boost

I have owned my 3b s2 coupe for a year now and it had fitted a full miltek exhaust, samco hoses and had apparently had a remap. i found that the power didn`t seem much more than my previous car a cq20v7a. So i took the car in to a audi/vw specialist garage and they didn`t come to any real conclusions other than to try another ecu as there diagnostic tests reading 2097 degrees internal engine tempreture. They also said that the chips had been installed very roughly. i popped the outer case on the ecu and indeed they looked vissually very bad, and condensation water damage looking staining on .They replaced the n75 to be sure and some other tempreture sensor im not sure which one.The distributor and arm were replaced too, it ticked over more smoothley after that so im glad they did checkit over.they found also that the knock sensor was unplugged. I then bought off somebody on this forum an MRC or maybe not?? chipped ecu plugged it in and for a while there seemed an improvement but not much certainley not 280HP.
The other day i installed a boost gauge,i then took the car out for a spin, at most im getting 0.5 bar through all gears. i don't have any boost leaks and the turbo spins up ok. i removed inlet hose and turbine looks, feels and spins with no excess play.
Could the problem be that the wg spring is not adjusted so only allowing it to 0.5 which is at standard factory setting? im running out of ideas now. Can anyone throw suggestions what to check next?

I am guessing boost pressure to ECU is off or broken somewhere and the MAP sensor is not getting any signal so the ECU is not increasing the boost. All you are getting is mechanical waste gate spring pressure.

You are not getting boost control from the ecu, 0.5 bar is just WG spring boost. So you need to find out why the WGFV is not being controlled. Firstly check that the WGFV (N75) is plugged in, when you blip the throttle it shopuld click. Make sure the throttle is opening fully, you wont get full boost unless you can hit WOT on the throttle position sensor. Pull the codes using vagcom or the blink codes with an led, instructions on S2 central.
