Shipping England to Ireland

I won an auction for 2 x brembo calipers last week at a good price. Before bidding I asked the seller how much shipping would be and he replied with £20. I won the auction and paid the price + the £20 but he has since emailed me to say the shipping will be £60 and that he has made a mistake.

In an effort to be fair with him does anybody know what company I could use to ship these items for a more reasonable price.

Any ideas welcome...

Parcel2Go.com offer collection, but dpd and fastway might be worth a call, although they may require collection from a business.

£60 is too much, got mine shipped from USA for less than that.

Many thanks I could be sticky and tell him to spend the £60 at his cost but it'd just be a complete waste of everybody's money. I sent him a link, I might even get change from my £20 based on the online quote I got there.

FWIW I have just shipped 4 x 18" alloys for £50.00 To Ireland...

So £60.00 notes for 2 calipers is way too dear...

Interparcel is superb. I shipped 2x S2 calipers (within the UK) for about £15 last year. Did it all online at about 11pm, guy was waiting for me at work at 8am the next day to pick the package up. Delivered the next day to the recipient.

I don't think he's trying to pull a fast one, just didn't have all the right information. I think he headed for the post office and they weighed them and he got a fright. so did I, but yet again you folks have pointed me in the right direction.

Hey Ho... Just as well I sold 'em TBH as I have just bought a Recaro interior for the S2 from Germany and there is no way her in doors would let me have both in the space of 10 Days...

And I know which item I want/need the most... and its not alloys....:mischeif:

The alloys do need a refurb.... & I did point that out at the time of listing them...

Guys, Thanks for the input, I was able to send the seller actual door to door quotes and he had no problem shipping for the original agreed price.
