There's no better engine sound than a screaming I5T going through the gears. We're planning a drive to Rome next year for the Italy vs Ireland in the rugby if you want a long term goal. A few weeks and I'll be up for a quattro meet, no bother.
The ur with a newer engine seems to have been done before alright, sounds interesting.
Yea he seemed foreign from the spelling in his emails, the car is a lhd which one things i noticed about it in the pics, the loom may be different than for a rhd as I found when I striped a polish 20v 90 however can all be made work, or is all ur's have fuse box passenger side or just pre 84...
If you not plan using the box either, deal could be made for it and clutch maybe , depends what I end up doing
the fusebox is on the passenger side of my mid 1984 urq. ill prob end up buying an aby loom anyway.
think he will take €200 for the clutch. its seems like a pretty strong one (but i dont know crap about these audis yet). and id say he would'nt expect much for the box. think car had about 160k kilometers on it so the box should be in fairly good nick. hope this helps

that would be some roadtrip. i had a rental car over there on a holiday a few years ago,all i can say is be carefull, there fecken nuts on the roads. i would'nt really mind if i got a scratch on a rental, but on a quatt god help them is all i'll say if they scratched mine
having been unfortunate enough to have taken a few taxis in various parts of Italy I would definitely recommend leaving any cherished car at home. They drive like maniacs alright. Must be the heat, or the coffee, or all that pasta which gives them all a heavy right foot and relaxed spatial awareness
so true. there was hardy a car in rome without scratches on it somewhere.
fearless nutters on scooters. i better stop complaining about the itialians or the mafia mite put me sleepin with the fishes
We say they're nuts and yet they say we're nuts. When in Rome, drive like a local
TBH I didn't like Rome for driving the last time I was there but there's a few worthwhile roads between here and there so even if we see no Rugby it'll be a good spin.
Paul, have you any time to work your magic on an ABY ecu for me in the next month?

Fly in and rent a Fiat 500 with full damage waiver then just have a laugh. Windees down, shades on and say 'ciao' to all the local lovelies riding scooters with mini skirts (unless they are dodgy looking blokes called mario or luigi). Always reminds me of this from the surreal genius of Izzard - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-PmuHWPZSkY
Italy is a great place despite the mad road users though... Would really like to have a proper holiday there sometime.
On a more serious note - yes I can diddle an ECU next week if you like.
true. whatever about rome city itself, the rest of the journey prior this would have staggering scenery . you cant beat a good road trip.
me and a mate of mine drove from florida to l.a and back in six days in a 2007 in a shelby mustang a couple of years ago, and i'll never forget it, best hol ever.
its what memories are made of
the car was ok, but some of the scenery was just awesome(as the yanks would say)
