Lucky escape me thinks... You dont want it unsprung for the road. And from memory the splines are wrong for an 016 box.

you need an RR (UR Q 20v) flywheel and inner needle bearing. Clutch wise I went for a Sachs stock clutch but there are plenty of upgrade clutch options for the RR and 3B engines.

What set up are you running? engine/box/ECU/torque?

not actually running anything yet. i have a stock aan. i'll be using my 016 urq box. not a clue about the ecu setup. and would like something around 400bhp area whatever torque ill have probably depends on things like my turbo and intercooler setup

turbodriver, I was actually directing that question to Jay as he said he is using a stock Sachs clutch and I wanted to know which "stock" he is referring to and how that matches across to the torque he is running.

No problem. Will be interested in what you plan also. DJones used the AAN in his 450bhp conversion, you may wish to read up on what he did.

                          Thanks chaps, very kind.

Let me know if i can help in anyway. The perseverance is well worth it in the end, a 20v ur is one of the best (affordable) drives you will get.

Harvey - It is a completely stock AAN engine, was going into my typ85 Rally Replica but its going to be rebuilt for my mk1 golf project. From memory it was advised to upgrade the stock sachs clutch if going above 300lb/ft i think?

Cheers Jay. That will be very interesting indeed - look forward to seeing you complete that!

I am putting an homefried ABY into my WR to run with RR/200 20v lightened flywheel and 016 box. Paul's map will produce around 420-430 Nm of torque so an uprated clutch is a must for me -especially if I need even more of the torque drug down the line.
