I'm a little confused about the Banjo connector listed in many threads about 044 pump fitting. (N 903 307 01) Does it fit the fuel line on any car?
The pump in my S2 avant gave up yesterday = interesting journey home being towed by the CQ20v. Sounds great when its pulling two cars!
As i already had it i tried to fit the 044 pump and discovered it needs a non threaded Banjo connector to fit the original fuel line.
I had originally bought the pump and basket to fit into the CQ20v but when i checked the original fuel pump it was the same part number as the S2 avant pump, same basket and everything. Only difference is the length of fuel pipe.
So either i'm missing something here or are we all buying the wrong type of banjo? How did everybody else manage to fit this?
By luck and pure chance i was in a scrap yard on saturday and picked up a complete fuel pump and basket from a V6 Coupe. And guess what its identical too, stuck it into the avant and i'm motoring again
