Some closer pics for spink - the front of a urq has these tags to hold the top of the urq bumper to the car, normal cq's/gt's will not have these

The rear of the car has a flat panel that sticks out and holds the lower section of the rear bumper on, most are rotted away if you see a car that has the lower outer lip section sagging, mine was starting to go and the inner bumper section was needing work (literally disintergrated ) hence mines got a new one on now and a new section for the lower lip thanks to quattronutter's hard work

      Started off today with this

and the yellow tape was stock audi and falling off so bought some self amalgamating (spl?) tape to repair this, with the help of big daddy spent an hour or so tidying this up earlier ready to go on the urq

sorry I didn't get any close up shots, I may be able to tomorrow if I get a chance

Also took an angle grinder to the recaro's earlier - end result with the help of big daddy once again and quattronutter these are now fitted in the car properly.

      So work is happening lol.....

And i've dropped your bits off this morning there. Used all that diesel from the other day fitted the other recaro so they are both in there now and both work.

Yup, to say I wasn't hanging around this weekend is an understatement. 371 miles on that, even made a detour with matt/big daddy on here from quattronutters earlier with the sole purpose of chasing a portable bbq machine (merc benz diesel) that had some serious turbo issue's to see if it would pop on the way down the m1, missed two junctions and ended up detouring thru mk back to newport pagnell and truly cooked the brakes. The merc was a good laugh, everytime he backed off the smoke screen was quite superb and then a ford cougar v6 and a couple of other cars joined in

Been a couple of weeks since an update.

Got the complete dash section with wiring for the diff lock panel today (cheers puglife) so I can re-wire the dash section and update to the later style dash/clocks (I did this before but somethings not right with the wiring)

Also modded a steeringwheel boss so I can fit my nardi steering wheel with the help of my mate alan, didn't take too long and looking forward to getting the car a bit closer to road wortheyness.

Now for the fun bit - Ever wondered what a 60 ish k engine looks like inside, I got bored today so opened up the aan engine so I can take the head along with a spare converted 7a head to be fettled with.

The goldish colour stuff on the side of the head is waxoil, the underside of the car and most of the engine bay etc was covered in it, it means there's no rust but its a pita when trying to undo bolts, still everything came off easily and didn't take too long, even the heat shields on the turbo side of the head was in good condition

Pete, thats not waxoil. Its powersteering fluid thats got hot. It had a longterm leak before i got it, over time its covered everything in the stuff. Its a pig to get off as youve probably found out. Good to see my old aan will be going into a good home
