    Hey Pete,
Didn't notice the reference to me earlier . The ur arches on the 90 do look great and maybe will be tempted one day. But that does make the car look fast so no longer a sleeper.

I just stumbled upon this thread while researching wheels for my imminent purchase: A North American market '85 ur quattro in Tornado Red. As a BRAID importer and rally nutter I am excited about slapping some BRAID wheels on the car next spring and whoring it out at shows and events so it can earn it's keep so I'm intrigued as to what UR fans think is an appropriate wheel hence my finding this thread and posting.

For my part I think all wheels should be white, five spoke and appropriately sized for the vehicle which usually translates to "not too big". I think I'll stick with 15x8 or 16x8 but not sure what to use yet. I do like the dished lip of the original Ronal 15x8 but am not going to paint them white but leave them alone and in storage. Some options I'm considering from BRAID are:

I know, some of these don't have the dished lip I said I like but maybe that's OK.

        What do do chaps think?

I'm also trying to figure out the offset of the stock 15x8 and what the widest tire is you can squeeze onto a stock car and at what offset if anyone knows.

Offset of the stock 8x15 is 24 (it's cast into the hub)

I run 225s on my 84 with no issues.

I think out of those above I prefer the heavier 5 soke.

24! that's pretty aggressive. I was expecting something like 35-40. I thought it might be cast into the hub but I don't own the car yet. Is that 225/50 you're running? This car has those on too.

The two five spoke rims shown are the same rim in different sizes, the left being 15" and the right 16".

Are 16 rims with 225/45 tires a viable option?

                  Mine are 225/50-15
My mate runs 16s I'll check what size tyres, I'm pretty sure they're 225/45-16.

I'm currently looking into finding the best size for what rim I go for, currently looking either a 8.5x17 et35 5x112 or a 8.5x18 et35 5x112.

Saw a lovely set of rims the other day, couldn't believe it had a 3 inch dish on it

Interesting. Why would you go with +35 when stock is +24? Is it about clearance?

I think Pete goes for ET35 as he has a wider S2 driveline setup incl. the S2 hubs and uprights, compared to the narrower track of the UrQ hubs
