The person I bought the kit off said it was silicon but after closely inspecting the packaging it does not mention silicon anywhere, just says Performance Hose Kit made by APC (American Products Company) All I can advise is to buy wisely!

I used OEM stuff... Bloody expensive but it didn't/hasn't done what your stuff has..

Sometimes I guess it's worth paying that bit more...

Not surprised at all to be honest, I bought some good 4mm vacuum pipe off ebay which has been fine which I got 10m for £10, but I thought to myself when I got the larger pipe it did not feel as flexible as the stuff I normally use. I would prefer to buy from a local shop but I can never find anywhere that stocks it, but to be fair you get what you pay for so it was to be expected really. Just got a habit recently of clicking buy it now, cheapest P&P not the best way to go about it!

Put a claim in.... if the product is defective you have a right to claim a refund at the very least.

Problem with the OEM stuff is that it gets brittle with age.

I've gotten silicone hoses from various UK based motorsport vendors on Ebay. Good prices and very high quality stuff (as far as I can tell)

Silicone hose is now so widely avaliable that its not surprising that there is cheap nasty stuff around.

As long as you stick to a brand like Samco, roose, sfs, autobahn88 etc you should be ok.

Your hose looks like its melted so it cant have been very good quality as it should withstand about 200c..
