That car used to belong to a friend of mine, it has one of my large k26/27 hybrids and chipsets, think he sold it around 8 months ago for over £4000.

I picked it up for a bargain price, think its had a clock change as MOTs kind of confirm normal yearly milage. Its very strange though.... Id had worked out the turbo part, it has injectors with a red ring around which I have no idea about, seems to be running a standard downpipe and IC which seems crazy. And it get stranger - the V5 says capacity 2598cc??? Its boosts to over 2bar and holds its along way but doesn't seem to be running right.... What chipset is in there? Seems to have a wound in wastegate spring, and no idea what FPR it has.

Also it smokes like a dog, but not on startup, has had the VSteam seals done, turbo is fine ive checked that. It got through 20 litres of Optimax over 35miles so I reckon the map is not quite right when cold and its is over fueling massively. Its a mystery this car, does it have a TDI bottom end etc??

Sounds like it has a boost leak or the vac line to the ecu is holed or disconnected. Check and replace all the small gauge vac lines, on my Avant they were all leaking to some extent or other, the car now does 30MPG on a run and no longer smokes at all.. Also check the DV for a split diaphagm or a hole.

I am surprised, this car was running sweet up until recently, and AFAIK it was never stroked. It seems this car has undergone some rather unfortunate changes in the past year....

not stroked and seems to have lost its rs2 intercooler,downpipe, maf and airbox
