looking at a A4 I have taken the engine out of looks like may be possible to use the FARB from it in back a coupe using stock drop links and stock strut orientation, dont know what the diameters available are this is a 1.9td(red)i and look be about 26mm but maybe a 1.6 or something may be ideal??

Ahhh I did not know how much you would need to stiffen the springs to negate the need for an arb. Quite fond of my teeth (and spine) where they are.

Its just I have been having the inside rear wheel lifting on some uphill hairpins which is rather annoying as it then just spins out. With the car up in the air jacking up one wheel has an effect on the other side which is not good.

Solution at the moment is more aggression into the corner but four wheel slides are not practical in all situations.

There's a whole other thread on springs, should be a sticky. The front springs are softer and sit higher so are not suitable, you could get some custom springs made up and it would indeed counter the effect. My criticism of the HnR setup is that they make the rear relatively softer and roll too much for the stiffness over bumps. I think most people look at ARBs as a simple tuning solution as the concept of changing springs is a little too involved. French hot hatches have used soft springs and stiff ARBs for years and with good results, it does detract from ride comfort a little over just soft springs but then stiffer springs will be much worse all the time. I am still trying to get some custom springs started, something that's worth bolting onto the car and that will improve handling, not just looks.

A good idea for the rear bar would be to go hollow, this will enable the use of the front cups and bushes that are stock items from Audi/Superflex/Powerflex (e.g. 25mm, 2mm thk ~ 20mm solid) and also should shave some weight off at the same time, I estimate 1/2 weight for the example given.

suppose we all want dfifferent things from the car.

i have a whiteline rear, koni, koni springs, solid bushes. 18" rims

i feel no need for an uprated front i too wanted to reduce undrsteer by having an increased rear bar but stockm front.

my car rides flat but is very bump compliant. the tyres help the rear stay in toe.
