    Glass Scratch Removal - Sunglasses

Right, as I'm sure many of you can appreciate from their own such experiences, As someone who has never understood the concept of 'if it ain't broke, don't fix it' I decided that I was going to remove some scratches from a pair of sunglasses... naturally, and to no one's suprise, this hasn't gone quite as I imagined it should have

My question is, can anyone recommend a product or kit that they have used to remove scratches from glasses?

Are you now removing more or less scratches than when you started?

Sort of. I made a pig's ear of it to begin with by using the wrong stuff but have revived it quite well using toothpaste (after trying a number of things)! I think I just need to finish it off now with some fine grade polishing compound, it'll not be perfect but then it doesn't need to be really, just good enough... just looking about and thought I'd share my story with the self help group (aka the forum ).

You could try using a rayon fibre pad with some polish with a mild cut.

...or a fibre glass scratch brush or some jewellers rouge. These can all be use to removed scratches from glass.

Disclaimer: I've never tried used any of these products on the lenses of sunglasses so I can't guarantee the results. You can try them at your own risk and report back your findings.

What about Meguiars Scratch X ? It's supposed to be good for plastic headlamps and scratched cds. I should try it on my glasses actually, they're a right state!

No, they left my company in perfect condition for about what I'd paid for them 2 years previously. They are Ray Bans but not Avi's

Try sending them back to Rayban, I know Oakley are really good when it comes to this sort of thing, worth a try?

I didn't buy them new and they'll take 1 look and

Oakley were helpful when I scratched my Inmates but they were helpful at their own pace and at a cost... this is DIY territory now methinks - a bit more fun I guess
