Guess some force somewhere must have had them at some point... can't see Audi spending money tooling the parts otherwise....

Now I come to think of it - Did they not use Coupe's in Germany as I seem to remember Herpa did a model of one...

I was wondering that too...

But if they were RS2 Spec - then they would only have been available as an option from 1994 onwards... I guess?

Coupe Recaros are slightly different to RS2s, they have smaller headrests. I don't think that they were exclusive to the S2 either, as my ones came out of a V6 coupe.

I saw a mk5 Golf GTI for sale recently that had had Recaro CS's trimmed in the Interlagos cloth which had supposedly been a rare factory option, so maybe if you know who to talk to at the dealer you are still able to order a new VAG car with Recaros as an option like back in the day with mk2's and S2's. It would definitely be a box that I would be ticking if I was to ever buy a brand new car.

Think it was a 2 or 3K option on the R32 I had a test drive in too...

Was the Carbon Inserts not an extra "Cost" Option???

Nope, I thought it was the standard option in the S2 - it was the wood that was a cost option - at £108 over the carbon

The poor schmuck that bought my car new went for most options, including the wood

Worth it. Suppose if you are able to afford one of those cars, then you can afford to splash out on something other than the standard deck chairs

Nop. But they were used in civil purposes only so there was no antiaircraft guns on roof etc ....

Interestingly, this says that the outside temp gauge was not available on the S2

That was true for early 3B models as I recall .
