I'm in NJ at present, the intake tube is sat next to the S2 in the garage ready to be packed

Thus, Andy can do the honours... afraid you'll have to wait an extra couple of weeks though! Sooo jealous - I wanted to do speedweek some time, maybe next year as september is a good time to come across

The turbo'd VR6 should be mean, took a spin in a turbocharged Golf VR6 in KY several years back and that was spinning the fronts in 3rd when the boost came in

You can always meet us over there Ross

No problem with the pipe, as long as it fits in my luggage

Sounds like a good meeting being planned over there.

I've re-arranged my trip so will definitely be there, looking forward to this

I love American cars but if that Charger is like the older chargers I have hired it will be like a tank to drive. More often than not, I ended up being given the 2.7 as opposed to the 3.5 V6.

Last few times I've been I hired the Shelby GT-H, Corvette ZHZ and Camaro SS.

The Corvette was probably the best all round car I have ever driven. Quick, easy to drive quick, handling was superb, huge amounts of oversteer at the drop of a hat, quick, comfy to sit and drive in...oh and did I mention it was quick?!

            Sounds fun.

The car hire place i'm using seems very good, and it appears they pretty much allocate you the car and could give you the number plate of the one you'd be driving if required.

I've been told i'll have the "3.5 Liter V6 High-Output 24 Valve MPI engine (5 speed automatic)", not just a dodge charger or similar.

              That's good news!

Don't really like asking but how does their price compare to the normal hire companies, i.e. Hertz, Budget, Avis, Alamo, etc..?

Also, slightly off topic but how's the Ju Jitsu going?

This is the company - http://www.ruggedrental.com/

Was recommended to me by Ross having used them before.

                I love a bit of cross-forum banter

Going really well and absolutely loving it cheers. Attended 3 weekly sessions, but i'm planning to go on both sunday and tuesday from now on.

I need to find a good rental company in San Fran or find some decent rates from the typical rental companies.

Ha, yeah I was keeping an eye on that thread. For once, it didn't turn into the "my martial art could beat your martial art" kind of debate/argument.

Glad you're enjoying it though. If ever you need any books recommended to you just give me a shout.

Rugged Rental are great, a bit pricey but service is fantastic and for Sonic there is no 'young drivers excess' which puts them in line with the regular crew. They used to have a magnum with the V8 hemi but it was always taken when i booked; they seem to stock mainly trucks, jeeps and hummers now.

I've used www.carhire3000.com this trip - i have used them successfully in past, all insurance is included at what seems similar prices as if you rent directly without it! However, this time round my 'fullsize - V6 charger or like' was nothing for day one, went back at 7am the next morning and managed to get a 4-pot chevvy malibu. The lady @ the counter said agencies were selling cars they don't have available alot during busy periods and causing her alot of grief from irate customers.
