how much has yours gone up mine went up £120 and ive 9yrs ncb and only done 260 miles last year
till i said i was cancelling they gave it me the same price as last year thought i was supposed to come down each year
My UR insurance was going up to £460, so I decided to shop around and eventually went to Performance Direct as AON wouldn't even insure my SWB or 'hotrod' as they called it.
UR Agreed value 20K and 1500 miles per year = £144
UR SWB with Kevlar kit and lots of none standard bits and 1500 miles per year = £143
first time in the 10yrs i've had the car that i haven't been able to beat my previous yrs cost. Think there has been a fair amount of reculaculating going on and the winter probably means we are picking up the pieces too and no doubt in the current climate there are more non insured drivers so us law abiding ones end up footing the bill for those who cant be ar&ed. Sucks doesnt it
Why here can't be usual insurance laike in Latvia,Lituania poland .....
We have usual insurance where no difference how old you are,how big engine and on year cost around 100, or as for my coupe quattro 25 pounds.
And for new cars is something like here in UK, but price depends on car price and age.
Looking to renew at the moment, Aviva last year £258, renewal = £369!!
15yrs no claim, under 6k per year and it goes up £111 !!
Best quotes are Elephant and Admiral, (same company?) both at just under £190 fully comp which is fine, so time for a change I think. (I have declared the modified Chip, Springs, Exhaust and alloys). Heard some bad reviews about them by claimant's but.......
Never tried the "performance" specialists e.g A.Flux, P.Direct, etc so cannot comment on them.
What's the latest news on the forum sponsors? How are their prices?
Thats good price Steve!!...you only do 1500 miles in the RR?
Yes I'm afraid so. I think I've only done about 300 miles this year. Some years I do more, depends on what events are on but overall it avaerages out. Infact I've only washed the UR once this year as it's only been out twice as I've been concentrating on the SWB and more recently the S2 which is now for sale.
The good thing about Performance Direct is that you don't use you NCD as that stays with your everyday car. AND if you do an online quote and you're not happy, phone them and haggle it down.
Everyone's insurance will be going up circa 20%, so I am told....
Main problem with the UK is the increased incidence of PI claims.
A very expensive and major problem for underwriters.
