I have an intermittent whirring noise down by my left foot when the engine is running. Quite hard to describe. It's there most the time but stops for a few seconds sometimes. Can't find it being linked to anything, nothing seems to start or stop it.
Any ideas?
If not ill start pulling bits off to find out!
Cheers
right....it sounds like its related to the steering. when i was sat at the lights i realised if i slightly turned the wheel the noise stops!! only happens when im driving in a straight line with no steering input!
sounds like static from a speaker or air bubbling under pressure through a pipe....
check you havent dislodged the rubber boot which is on the end of the column going through the firewall...? Definately hear a bit more of anything if thats open and probably a small draft too
whats the easiest way of seeing/getting to said bung? driving to uni on tuesday so can get on the ramps too! oh the luxuries oh being 'in' with the lab staff!
haha im defo not a 'carnie'...ill try it parked up first! cheers, i'll let you know if this silences it! doesnt feel like the steering is struggling or leaking anywhere that i know of!
