    Headlight bulbs

    Hey guys
Can anyone tell me what headlight bulb (ie h1/ h4 etc) I need for the main beam in my s2.(the middle bulb in the unit) They are non ellipsoid headlights.

    Thanks
    Chris

they are H4 as the dipped and full beam are off a single bulb from memory. I've just ordered a set of phillips xtreme 100percent in a H1 for my A6 as they did well in a recent buld review...might be a good bet

Yeah phillips extreme are really good, H4 dual filament for the dip/head and H1 for the mains. IIRC

Cool cheers. Just gotta find some White bulbs for them then and then some White bulbs for the side lights. I found the high beam ones for £1! The White bulbs will hopefully help make the headlights a bit better.

jus back from installing mine philips x-treme 100% H1's on the A6...the difference is quite staggering, especially sign and general reflective response of objects in the distance. I can actualy see my beam pattern still when people pass which was impossible previously so a definate thumbs up from me.

Genuinely worth the £29 i paid for them and a must for anyone on ellipsoids who has yet to convert them to xenons.

I dont have ellipsoids and all im changing is the bulbs. I dont have to do anything else to make these work do I?

I assumed it was just plug n play with the bulbs.

Just plug and play with either normal or elipsoids, nicer light than HIDs too IMHO

Never used the Philips but i've used the Osram versions, much whiter light from them and a noticeable improvement in range. I was sceptical at first but they do work much better.

For projector lights you really need HIDS to have any hope of seeing where your going on dipped beam.

i think these are a good compromise on needing to go to a full HID kit to be honest. light output is good, colour is not as white as a HID but it's a definate improvement over stock bulbs...

Agree, once you've had HID's, you actually wonder how you really saw anything before
