    New s2 in Scotland!

So this weekend I managed to get my hands on that elusive reasonably priced ABY in pretty good shape. Picked it up in Swindon and 10 hours later through the snow I'm back in Dundee.
Some of you might remember I posted a while ago asking for advice on buying one, moved on from a mk2 golf. What a difference... and thanks to all the advice people gave.

Just saying Hi and also wanting to see if anyone knows any garages in Scotland preferably near to Dundee who know their s2's.
The car needs a new rear subframe which I should be getting off someone on here and a couple of other minor things. (front windscreen washers stopped working on the way up, but rear one still does. Don't know these cars at all yet, they on different pumps?)

Anyway, if anyone knows a good mechanic up here I'd like to know!

    Cheers

Welcome my friend! nice to see yet another one making it up here!! lol
The old good garage question has been asked many times and i think that the basic anser remains the same, find a garage that has a good reputaion, sensible, and has a good undertanding of all things automotive. These cars can be so specific that you can usually find the info you require for any problems on here or other forums. Think more that a few people have went to theirt garages with a handfull of printed out info to help them on their way!

As youl have probaly noticed, nice friendly folk always wanting to help on here.

PS. pics of said new car are a legal requirement!!!

      Nice. Coupe or Avant?

I always used a guy in Edinburgh called David Phillips for the RS2. I don't think he knows the R/S2 inside out but i would definitely recommend him.
I'm pretty sure there are seperate washer pumps.

Some pics, took it up the law this morning mostly out of curiosity about how it would handle it....easy!

Cheers, I'l get in touch with that guy if there's not anyone closer. Used a garage in Ireland for my golf but it needs the mot now; tax runs out in 2 days

Car looks really good in that colour, I can give you a list of garages to avoid in the Glasgow area if that's any help

Any plans or is it staying stock as a rock?

                      Cheers

                        Chewit,

When it was me moving from Golfs, I was intimidated by these cars, now after fixing them for a few years and reading this Forum everyday, everything can be dealt with, as in I understand how it works and who should fix it, me or someone else, and where and how to get the bits.

Nice car, colour, and photos, take your time and get it as the factory intended before getting caught up with the modifying frenzy on here.

                        Kind regards.

Nice motor and another in dundee.

                          Cheers Steve.

Thanks for all the comments! Feeling real happy with it right now, especially as a couple of mates got stuck in the snow today
Love colour with the snow and the sky in the back in some of those pics.

Cheers, Some people mentioned Alistair Leith when i had my golf to get it done, I'l pop in there tomorrow, if they're open...

I have so many plans for it. Car has a MRC remap already, apart from that and some grooved discs on the front, its standard as far as I can tell. Oh, and a switch to turn on/off the 12v for the head unit for some reason?
Yeah, think it's probably a good idea to get all the little niggles sorted out before I go sticking new stuff on it, for a first thing I'm pretty drawn to some big brakes on the front or a stainless. Just need to see what the funds are like!

I am a bit intimidated just looking at it compared to the golf but I guess I'll just start slow. That engine bay looks like it needs a good clean..

                            Andy

I really like the color, do you have the color code for it? Really good pictures too

The washers are on different pumps and tanks, this goes for headlights, front and back.
